An Instinct for Mapping
The globe is spun round by invisible pathways frequented by millions of avian navigators. These paths are the flyways, and the birds that frequent them can travel hundreds of thousands of kilometers in a lifetime. They journey by day and by night, following maps as old as their species, encrypted in the beating of their hearts and the rhythm of their wings. These migratory birds are moved by a restlessness to follow the sun, to stay on the move. They never settle.
Travellers of every species circumnavigate the globe, creating restless pathways, crossing and re-crossing. Our journeys interweave, interlace, interlock. The paths we take through history and across race and species make each of us a participant in the journey through time
